You're in the far distance amongst the midst, neither here or there. Indulged in murky waters, darkened by fear and uncertainty. Stagnated in the realm of worry and hopelessness. Trapped in the fog of sorrow with no exit, no pleasure, just pain shackled by the anxieties of depression.
Disconnected from the soul, a disorientated purpose. You stare often, bewildered, puzzled at your own existence. "Why me?". A constant battle, day in day out, beyond exhausted. Mental clarity poisoned, infected with traumatic remembrance.
What is the cure you may ask? I'm no doctor nor a therapist. But sometimes all it takes is some helping words to initiate the journey of recovery.
Life is a story. And your story has chapters, various events and turns. It also has a beginning and a definite end. What we go through is unique to each of us. Our path is set with victories and trials. We have a choice in our story, to stay the same or choose to become resilient. Make sure you leave laughing.
They ask, "how are you?"
Be truthful in your answer. Don't be worried or scared to verbalise and convey your feelings. The right people want to help. But if you don't ask, you won't get. There many people in the same boat, maybe worse. We don't have to be alone. We forget people love us, they care for us. But, there is something more important. I believe we must also love ourselves, in terms of caring for our physical, mental and spiritual health. Be fair on yourself. You surely don't want to stay living in this rut, so give yourself the attention and effort like you would for others.
You have life, you are valuable.

وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكًا
And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed [i.e., difficult] life
